About Ev Bishop

Ev Bishop is an award-winning USA Today bestselling author who believes in the power of stories to transform lives.

Best known for small-town Contemporary Romance and Women’s Fiction, readers describe her books as “full of humor, love and wisdom,” set in places “where breathtaking scenery and the magic of love are the best medicine for the soul.”

In addition to having twenty published novels under her belt, with more on the way, Ev is a prolific scribbler of other things. She was a columnist with the Terrace Standard for almost twenty years, and her articles, essays, short stories, and poems appear in various publications. She also writes under the pen name Toni Sheridan.

Ev is a member of Novelists, Inc. (NINC),  Federation of BC Writers, and the Saskatchewan Writer’s Guild. She is honoured to be Regina Public Library’s Writer-in-Residence January – June 2026. 

Passionate about all things craft, story, and writing-life related, Ev offers workshops for writers of all ages and ilk and is a frequent presenter at writing groups, libraries, writer and reader conferences, retreats, and small business events.   1. just read your article about the cane. I am facing a similar situation and people rarely talk about the emotional challenges of coming to terms with one’s reality and disability. Thank you for bringing this to light. It’s one of the hardest journeys I’ve faced to date.

    • I’m so glad my article resonated with you, and I’m sorry you’re on this similar journey. It really is difficult. I was surprised by how hard I found coming to terms with needing a cane was (is!) for me, and while I’m happy I made the decision to get one, I know the emotional adjustment is not over. Did you decide to get one? Either way, I wish you reduced pain and increased peace on your journey!
