Please scroll down to see if there’s an upcoming event that interests you, and check back often, as I usually present at a couple of venues every year. I hope to meet you in person at something soon and can’t wait to chat all things writing, words, story, and more with you!
January 19 – June 28, 2026: I’m thrilled to announce that I am the Regina Public Library’s Writer-in-Residence this year.
Just some of the things I’ll be doing as the WIR are:
– Providing one-to-one assistance with personal writing projects, providing writing advice and suggestions, giving encouragement and support, and offering insight into all publishing phases: from research, to writing the first draft, to publication
– Public readings and Q&A sessions
– Free writing workshops
If you’re in Regina, SK, or it’s an easy mini road trip for you, set up an appointment to connect with me! (E-mail wir@reginalibrary.ca )

ONGOING: Calling all local writers and wannabe writers! I hope you’ll join for this fun and casual writers’ meet up once a month. Use it to get yourself started writing, to generate new words in a current project, to strengthen your craft, or just to play around with words and possibly find a new passion.

Join me, Eden Robinson, Adrienne Fitzpatrick, and Al Lehmann on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 at the Terrace Public Library for “Words of Welcome.” Each attending author will read a short excerpt or two from a published work or work-in-progress, and will be on hand for a question and answer period. I was excited to be asked to take part in a three-author reading event at UNBC (Terrace campus) on Thursday, July 9th, 2009. I’ll be reading fiction and non-fiction excerpts, and poets Si Transken and Simon Thompson will be sharing from a variety of their works. It should be a fun, inspiring night. We’d love to see you there!
