And more fun news! As a thanks to you kind souls who have already reviewed my books–and hopefully as a little nudge/reminder to review if you haven’t yet, I’ve designed a super simple contest with some lovely prizes.
All you need to do is post a review of any one of my novels online at Amazon, Kobo, iBOOKS, or Barnes & Noble. When your review is published, paste the link in the appropriate Rafflecopter box. That’s it! Have fun! (And if you’ve already reviewed–hooray! You are still eligible. Track down your reviews and paste their links beneath whichever book you reviewed. And please, definitely review all six books so you’re entered six times!
Woot, woot! Some of you may have already heard my exciting news, but I wanted to do an “official” happy blurt, regardless. HOOKED, Book 2 in my River’s Sigh B & B series, almost won a RONE awardthis year, earning itself a very respectable runner up!
I’m incredibly honored that HOOKED placed in InD’Tale Magazine’sincreasingly prodigious contest, and I’m very grateful for the encouragement, motivation, and professional development InD’Tale Magazine (and its sister conference, InD’Scribe con) provide so generously. The staff, reviewers, and organizers are a wonderful resource and benefit to authors, small publishers and readers.
It’s my hope, goal, and aim (LOL!) to take home the gorgeous crystal RONE trophy some day, but I have to say even runner up feels amazing. I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for HOOKED and got me to the final judging panel. You are awesome and I appreciate your loyal reading–and love of–my stories, very much.
I also found out that my novel HOOKED is a 2016 RONE finalist. I’ll find out in October if it’s the grand winner, but even making the final cut has me dancing around my office with honor and delight! 🙂
Last but not least, if you live in the Terrace area and fancy an evening of reading and chat for a good cause, I urge you to come out to “Words of Welcome,” a group reading/fundraising event, at the Terrace Public Library tomorrow night (7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016).
Eden Robinson, Adrienne Fitzpatrick, Al Lehmann and I will each be reading a short excerpt or two from a published work or work-in-progress, and will be on hand for a question and answer period. Entry is by donation, with all proceeds going to the new families moving into Terrace from Syria. It promises to be an entertaining, thought-provoking night–and it’s for an excellent cause. Please come!
I have incredibly exciting news! (Well, exciting to me anyway, lol.) Bigger Things made the second cut for InD’Tale Magazine’s RONE Award in the Women’s Fiction category. Yay! Now it goes to the third and final phase: a judging panal. A huge thanks to each of you who read Bigger Things and voted for me. I appreciate both very much. Should I win, you bet I’ll let you know . . . and even if it goes no further now, I’m honored to have made it this far. 🙂
And in the meantime, if there’s someone in your life you think would enjoy Bigger Things, please let them know it exists. Word of mouth is a wonderful thing and I’m beyond grateful (kind of dizzy and thrilled, actually!) when kind people recommend my stories.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, filled with sunshine, time in the dirt, laughter with friends and a good book.
